There are many forms of online work available. In this article we are looking at a system to establish a regular source of reliable income. Once the system is established, and this of course will take effort and determination on your part, it is possible to watch your earnings grow with only minimal maintenance.

The most obvious sources of passive income are royalties from music or books that you have written. However, not everyone can write a best seller. For many the concept of having a regular income with little effort seems a panacea. In reality few attain it. This article is going to look at ways that you can achieve this dream using the internet. The key is to find or develop a system that works and then work it.

Many fail in this area because they are not prepared to put in the initial effort required. Or worse, they get started but because results do not come quickly they think it doesn’t work and so they give up.

Be assured it is possible to earn a regular income and a considerable income at that from the internet. This does not involve scams or spamming people but through providing genuinely valuable information to people and products that they can use.

So let us look at this in more depth. Just what exactly are we talking about? There are many products available on the internet; we live in an information rich age where you can access information on just about anything. People are crying out for constructive advice that works. To generate a regular passive income you need a system that will do the following:

Find products that people want to use. Here the most important aspect is to find a product that meets a need. Consider what it is you want to achieve and always, always think about it from your customer’s perspective not your own. The best products for truly passive income are those that can be downloaded, so electronic products are best. For example, audios, dvds, ebooks or games.

Establish an automated mechanism whereby your customers can easily access the product they have bought. This needs to be secure so that only people who have paid for your product can access it, and safe so that your customers do not inadvertently download a virus alongside the product. Here you can use cloud storage to store your product and provide a safe download link for your customers.

Make sure the product will give you a good return. You are looking to generate passive income after all so you must ensure that you will make a profit from each product sold. The most successful products are those that are inexpensive. Go for volume over price.

Next you need to develop a sales page for your product that clearly describes what it is and how it will help your customers. It can be very effective to use a video that describes and shows the product in action. You do not even have to pay for such a website there are many excellent website providers that offer you a high quality site for free.

Finally you need to attract interested buyers to your sales page. Pre selling is the most effective way to maximise your sales. There are many ways you can achieve this, through the use of blogs or advertising campaigns that first give out a free product that is of value to your customers. This builds trust and your customers will already know you provide quality goods and so will be half way sold on your product before they even look at it.

Follow these simple steps and once the system is set up you can sit back and enjoy watching your income grow while you decide what product you are going to develop next.

——————————

In our hectic, modern daily lives, we now have little time to reflect and take into account the world around us. So many things that must be accomplished before noon, bills to be settled, shopping to do, folks to meet, deals to close and so on. Our world is a fragile place, but over the years, for hundreds, if not 1000′s of years, we have habitually abused and exploited the place we dwell and the beings that we coexist with.

We know that it is very important to strike a stability on the planet, so that every little thing from crops, animals and human beings can progress and develop together, however we’re in such a rush, as we take care of apparently more pressing daily issues. Conservation is more than just a word, it is a topic that affects all of us who live on the Earth. Simply put, we need to respect the other forms of life that reside on this planet, and use the Earth’s resources in a wise and respectful manner.

As we seem like at the top of the animal kingdom our tasks are maybe that much greater to learn and perceive how this should best be done. The Earth’s resources are finite, I believe we might all agree on this point. The various nations across the world seem to be slowly waking up to the truth that we must all work collectively, and something must be done so as to make sure the survival of mankind and indeed the world we reside in.

Global warming appears to be an vital modern issue that must be addressed as quickly as possible. The weather hints at a change of climate and scientists give studies of the arctic polar regions decreasing in size| and elevating the sea levels| across the world. Much less air pollution and cleaner environment friendly methods to produce power appear to be good possible solutions to combat this problem.

The respect for other animals that share the planet with us, might be as important to our personal survival, as it is for the thousands of different species. Tigers and Rhinos are currently at risk of extinction due to the unlawful poaching of their body parts for numerous ancient medicines and Chinese aphrodisiacs that may be offered for a lot money in certain countries.

In conclusion, we maybe must take a step back and look around at the world we live in, and to lift up our heads and see the place we are running to, if not for ourselves, then for our children and their well being.

—————————————————-

David Tatham has been working in the art world for over many years and has a growing concern for the world’s conservation. His website contains a wealth of information, also many signed, limited edition prints and original paintings by world renowned artists, http://www.davidshepherd.com

Overcoming Limitations, the process:

Having a direction in your life is a powerful way to go about overcoming limitations. For many of us, the most difficult part in overcoming limitations is actually making the decision about what you want to be “when you grow up”. This process we’re involved in, life, can easily pass us by before we even think to open our eyes. Once you have the power of choice on your side – the next step is giving that choice, of goal the power of focus.

Unwavering focus is part of overcoming limitations

What prevents many of us from overcoming limitations that hold us back in life is actually investing the time to ask yourself some important questions. If you were to develop the practice of taking about 20 minutes per day for personal focus, what do you think could happen? In many ways, it’s focusing on a plan that assists us in the process of overcoming limitations. Even though it may not be something many of us integrate into our lives.

Overcoming limitations with a simple plan:

If you or someone you can share this post with is at a point in their life where the pain of staying where you are now is greater than the pain it takes to embrace something new, here is a simple plan you can start on now that can help. For the next 7 days, schedule 15 minutes to sit, with your eyes closed and repeat the simple question in your mind:

“How could my life be better?”

If you can manage to get past any initial feelings to stop before 15 minutes (a timer helps) and relax into allowing your mind to open and experiencing how focus works, you may begin to “receive” ideas, visions, thoughts, premonitions and more of how you can go about overcoming limitations that are in your way and giving you something you can focus on that will help your life become even more enjoyable.

What a smart goal makes all the difference:

Ok, first, what is a smart goal? You could think “Is there a such think as a stupid question?” and answer the only stupid question is the one that was not ask, but what about goals. Goals are pretty simple right? Are they not simply a reflection of your desires? For most of us, yes indeed, our goals reflect what we desire to materialize in this world — therefore, to label a goal as stupid would simply be stating that your own desires, dreams and aspirations are the same. While that would be defeating, the other side of the coin would be assessing that all goals are smart goals.

After reading this, you might not think all goals are smart goals:

Consider this, if you have a vision, or something substantial in your life you wish to move towards that will require time, energy and effort that may span more than a few months, doesn’t it make sense that you would accomplish a series of steps that would help you move towards a bigger vision?

If you too think taking steps happens before running, smart goals are crucial:

If you were to think about smart goals as a series of smaller easy-to-accomplish action steps towards something greater, you are more likely to develop the desipline, dedication and perhaps most importantly, the belief something greater can happen, your entire perspective can change. For the better. If you were able to accomplish a series of action steps that strengthened your belief of something greater, what else do you think could happen?

Many people after watching the ABC 20/20 special, “Hidden America: Children of the Plains” may be asking, “What can be done to help?” The special depicted the daily lives of young people on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, home of one of the poorest counties in the United States. Like ABC reporter Diane Sawyer inquired at the end of the special, you may also be wondering why American Indians even stay on their reservations.

I am from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, neighbors by geography and tied by family and marriage to our relatives on the Pine Ridge Reservation. While my journey in higher education now finds me serving as president of Northwest Indian College at the Lummi Nation in Washington State, I regularly travel back to my homeland and my family.

The Lakota, Dakota and Nakota bands scattered throughout the Northern Plains and into Canada are bound together by our cultures, languages and our blood. We are one people, with shared languages, beliefs and relationships. We are unique in our understanding of how we came to be people. Inyan, the first creation, gives of its blood to create the sky and water and gives of itself to make the Earth, Maka. We emerge along with all of the other nations onto the Earth to live with strength and generosity.

Our way of life comes from creation and from the teachings of creation and cannot be turned away from or who we are as a people will be lost. Like many people who meet others with powerful military weapons and a strong sense of righteousness and determination, we were unprepared for the onslaught of European and East Coast settlers onto our homelands. Our people fought hard to keep our homelands and to save our way of life.

While it is true that every Native American is touched in some way by poverty and by the symptoms of poverty & addictions, health problems, lack of access to education and resources & every Native American is also touched by their spirituality and love of their homelands and their knowledge of what it means to be a tribal people. This knowledge is what binds us together as people who love and support one another. This knowledge is what gives us roots in our homelands and what keeps us in the place of our ancestors. This knowledge is what inspires hope and promise for our children today and for future generations.

Education is a way for all Native people to prosper. Tribal colleges and tribal schools are the contemporary places from which our cultures thrive and through which we adapt to modern life. At Northwest Indian College, for example, we address the unique circumstances of Native American students within the framework of an accredited, two-year and four-year college curriculum.

We estimate that every student and graduate success impacts 35 other people. Our students serve as role models for their children, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, neighbors and friends. As a result, every college student changes the literacy and education level not only of the individual themselves, but of entire communities throughout the Northwest and our country.

We welcome your financial support. To learn more about tribal colleges as a path to prosperity and abundance, you can visit the websites of individual colleges like Northwest Indian College. I also invite you to explore the American Indian Higher Education Consortium or the American Indian College Fund.

—————————————————-

Goal Setting may be step one, weathering a storm can be next…

Ok, so you’ve got a vision and you make goals. You know what to focus on and you’re feeling invincible. You’ve got an action step checklist and start taking steps towards the fruition of your goals. You keep this up for a week and nothing changes. A month and nothing. Three months, still nothing. Maybe you start to wonder if your goal setting was a bit unrealistic…

At what point do you decide your goal setting was unrealistic and give up?

You’ve gone a full year and the only thing that has materialized from your goal setting is bankruptcy. Where does your mind go? Is that a sign that it’s time to let go, or do you dig deep and find a way to make the goal setting you did a year before bear fruit? Sometimes things seem bad – real bad. Sometimes even the birds seem as if their against you, when things aren’t working. Again, at what point to you you call it quits? Here’s what I think:

Today, financial balance is either a dream you’re living or a lingering nightmare. Yes, we do live in a different world now than it was several years ago. The mention of finances sends many of us into turmoil for many reasons. You personally know better than anyone else how the financial side of you life effects you overall. Is it empowering you to be the best your potential will allow, or is it bogging you down with worry?

What if you dreamed financial balance into your life?

It’s no secret, what you focus on expands. The question is, what are you focusing on? Alfonso Caudra – on his youtube channel doesn’t hold back in sharing his thoughts on focusing on lack. For example, if you were to remind yourself constantly of all the things in your life bogging you down, preventing you from moving forward, living the best life you can – that is what you will get. Lack – and often the emotional side effects that go along with “lack mentality.”

On the other hand, if you apply focus on financial balance:

Granted, when you find yourself in the midst of a storm, dreaming about what could be may be the last thing on your mind. Facing and dealing with what is, usually (justifiably) takes precedence. The catch 22 is if you stay in a survival only mindset, how do you think you will be able to pull yourself away from it?

Having a dream can be easier than you might think. If you were to do something to simply take your mind into a “higher” place on a regular basis for as little as 30 days, the way you approach the entire life situation could be much different. This could take as little as 20 minutes per day to simply take your mind somewhere else – to the extent of feeling and becoming it. However, it’s a way of thinking. When at a crossroad, you can take the path of least resistance, or you can do something you may not be used to and change your experience. Exactly how? That’s for you to discover. Are you willing?

It’s November 1st, 2011, if you are involved in marketing, large level or not, a great question you could ask yourself is “Are my marketing goals realistic?” Regardless of the answer, you may have caught on to the mishap in the last question — which would be using the word “realistic” as if we both knew the definition of something vast. Personally, I think there are a lot of lapses in communication when words with “implied” meaning are used without being defined.

In terms of marketing goals:

Today, we know the world is changing — it’s no secret. So do you hold onto the idea of what you have done in the past and attempt to equate that to success, in terms of a marketing goal (and beyond) or do you do something new that may better align with a changing world. In other words, wouldn’t it make more sense to have a set of actions that are more than likely to bring you what you are moving towards by setting a goal, say a marketing goal, than if you were to be stuck on a set of actions that likely won’t deliver to you what you are planning for?

At what point does change bring power to your marketing goals?

To take a page (of a few) from Change Through Power — Once you have determined a vision, or if you’re a company, Marketing Goals – how do you give yourself the fuel needed to change through the power of your mind (marketing goals materialized) aligning with what works and avoid what doesn’t work. Repetition of the goal (what you aspire towards) is one of the most proven powerful steps to keep in in mind – and we know what happens when you live, breath and take every step towards your dream – and the other powerful step is doing what works. Here’s a great article anyone who have marketing goals would benefit from:

Here’s something anyone making weight loss goals (or any other kind for that matter) needs to know:

In case you didn’t know, life happens. But I’m sure you know that already because you’re living it. Weight loss is a big issue for quite a few of us each year, yet someone in my position could argue, if the weight loss goals you start with don’t align with your action plan, then you’re gonna be one of the many that start over time and time again, without ever getting where you want. Although fitness has been a substantial part of my life for years, I really don’t think that the formula that I’m about to share for making weight loss goals real is something that only works for weight loss goals.

In case you’re wondering how many people should set weight loss goals, it’s about 45 Million of us (just in America) Case and Point

Ok, so we know there are a lot of us who go on diets on a yearly basis. We also know there many of us who try to lose weight gain it back. Additionally, it’s no secret that when it comes to making weight loss goals, some of the goals that are made don’t equate to weight loss success. Recently, in my life, something caused a change to happen that effected many areas of my life. While this was (is) a positive change, one of the side effects was gaining about 10 lbs. As an avid practitioner of Yoga and former personal trainer, I knew that I could either continue with habits that were “out of control” – or unplanned and continue to gain weight — OR — I could set some weight loss goals and lose the fat I had accumulated.

I chose the latter. Here’s how I set weight loss goals that let me burn off 10 lbs of bodyfat in 2 weeks (feel free to print and share):

1) I became unhappy with my weight.

* Here’s the deal. While I don’t think you have to reach a point where you are miserable before you decide to make a change, it’s a feeling that can (often does) act as a barometer to where we are. For me, I started noticing a different feeling in the way my body seemed to be. It was the unmistakable sensation that clothing was a bit tighter and parts of me were getting a bit softer. Quickly, this got to the point of an understanding that I needed to do something, like make some weight loss goals and create (and exercise) a plan of action.

The other side of becoming unhappy with what was happening was thinking about what specific body-weight I would like to find myself at. In my case, the specific weight I decided on was 10 lbs less than what I was. I had to think of a destination if I was going to make effective weight loss goals.

2) Decision

What is the one thing that comes before action? For me, to transform a desire, or something I wanted (in this case, weight loss) into reality, a decision was required. If I continued to do the same thing I was doing that was causing me to pack on pounds, and only held onto the idea of weight loss goals in my mind – what do you think would happen? Decision (with follow through) is the determining factor on how successful any goal will be. I think, when you decide you’re going to take action no matter what, and follow through, you have set yourself in a different class than those who simply talk about wanting something.

3) Set of actions

This the step that is either make or break when it comes to weight loss goals. Fortunately, it’s real simple. Once you make the decision that you are going to change the set of actions that is getting to a place you don’t want to go – it’s time to create an action plan for a set of actions that will yield the results you seek. In my case it was simple. I know how to lose weight. I know there’s a way of eating that aligns your metabolism to burn bodyfat. Eating donuts and big meals isn’t it. Very simply, I changed my habits and did not even consider another way.

Are there temptations along the way? Absolutely. There are holiday parties, diners and all sorts of life situations that can take you away from the set of actions you decide on. At this point, it’s you job to develop and “iron will” and not let outside influences (including friends) take you away from your goals. In my mind, I think “Do or Die.” When I’m referring to do or die, the die part is the idea that if I don’t stick to the set of actions that align with my weight loss goals, the vision dies.

4) Hold the idea, think of it as real

This step is quite important. It goes right along with the ideas in Change Through Power. Once I set my weight loss goals, I held the idea in my mind that I was already where I wanted to be. In the mirror I “saw” myself 10 lbs lighter. I imagined the feel of how my body feels at the weight I set out to be. I told myself I was there in my thoughts. In other words, I engrained in my mind that I was already there. That simple.

5) Monitor

If I were to make it real a way to gauge results was absolutely needed. For making my weight loss goals into reality, this was simple. I weighted myself every morning. This was a perfect way for me to monitor where I was from day to day. I accepted the good and bad alike. If I didn’t lose weight (or even gained some) one day, I simply re-evaluated my set of actions. Sometimes I determined my actions were great and I just needed patience. Along the path of getting to a more desirable (to me) body weight I had to accept the process, monitor the results and stay on the path. Not monitoring my results would be about as crazy as deciding I wanted to be a millionaire and never checking where I was.

Fast forward a couple weeks, my weight loss goals had come to fruition:

Once I had shed the 10 lbs I picked up, there was one more thing for me to do – especially if I was to keep it off. It’s simple too. If I was to make my weight loss goals a lasting reality, I had to continue doing the actions that got me where I had arrived. Simple right?

We all know Setting a Goal gives us something to focus on – Setting a goal can also help you get past disaster:

Could you imagine doing something you absolutely love then having it abruptly ripped away? Not that you would want to think about that or anything close, but what would you do if life were to throw you a curve ball that forced you away from what you are most familiar with that feels best? Although being upset and sinking into a depression may be common, easy and most tempting in dire situations, it can only serve one purpose. Logically, it practically a no-brainer that dwelling on the past is not a productive step towards a brighter future.

Setting a Goal on the other hand…

I know running a marathon might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re a runner, it’s pure bliss. An article I recently read resonated with me because it detailed how a woman who enjoyed running went from running, to being injured and in crutches as a result of running injuries. Understanding how disappointing it can be to have something you love quickly taken from you – and easy it can be to slip into dispaire – I was inspired by the state of mind this woman chose.

What got her back on track was setting a goal, even though the goals were small at times:

Setting a goal, even if was small became one of the factors that helped her stay mentally alert, upbeat and ultimately uplifted throughout the healing process. Even though “the ultimate goal” or getting back to running was a while off, this woman got good at setting a goal, even when it was small – so she could feel a sense of accomplishment. Eventually, ultimately, setting a goal paid off and now she can once again, focus on something greater.

Her name is Holly Kramer, you can read her story here:

When you think about accomplishments in life, it’s easy to agree, (love em’ or not) Steve Jobs made a few notable ones. In case you’re wondering what could be one of the turning points so many dreamers aspire to get in touch with, (to become dreamer and Doer) you can think about some of the qualities a person who has had many notable (perception word) accomplishments in life demonstrates.

But first, in your mind, what accomplishments in life do you dream of?

Like many successful (however you choose to define the word) people, Steve Jobs developed the discipline of focus – a powerful discipline that transforms visions (dreams) into fruition. If Steve Jobs never never gave direction and focus to the thoughts in his mind, do you think he would have had the same accomplishments in life? Better yet, what do you think COULD happen if you were to focus on the Goals and desires in your life?

Can Setting A Goal really take you from “rags” to “riches” in this economy? You decide:

Chances are, you’ve been told how important setting a goal is at some point. The question is, did it stick? If you being told (or preached to) about setting a goal, getting off your butt and doing something with your life – maybe not. The context wasn’t right. On the other hand, a lot of us are driven, take action and fall short. Why?

You might start to think that Setting a Goal has a lot to do with your direction – or course of action:

Case and point? What if you had something definite in your mind to focus on moving towards? This is where setting a goal can become much more useful. It can breath new life into your action and help you connect with a sense of purpose. When setting a goal can give your life a sense of purpose, you can move mountains with your mind. I think. You might appreciate this “rags” to “riches” real life story where setting a goal became the turning point:

Setting Goals can be much easier than you may think. Especially of you think goal setting has to be reserved for monumental aspirations in your life. In fact, you might find that setting your sights on a smaller goal can be give you the confidence to show yourself you can do something seemingly small.

There’s a science to Goal Setting, it’s called Follow Through!

But don’t be fooled – something seemingly small (in terms of goal setting) can easily become something you find reasons not to do – and if you can’t find a way to take small steps how are you ever going to take a big leap?

The “Small Step” we have for you this week couldn’t be simpler. If you can sit and breath you can take the step. So here it is:

For the next FIVE DAYS – simply sit upright in a chair, close your eyes and take 50 deep full breaths, breathing in through your nose, gently filling your lungs and gently exhaling through your nose. While you are doing this:

1. Keep the tip of your tongue gently on the roof of your mouth

2. To the best of your ability, simply focus on your breath and counting.

3. Practice at the same time every day.

If you can find a way to just sit and breath, which you will have to create time for, you can count that as one more step in the journey of a stronger mind, more able to accomplish even greater feats – however you choose to think of that!

Getting into “How to Confidence” as a way of being:

A good friend of mine will sometimes counter the phrase “I’ve been thinking” with “does it hurt?” If you were to think about it, it’s a valid point for several reasons, especially when you feel lack in the “how to confidence” department. You might agree, on a global level, our world is a much different world than the one we lived in 10 years ago. You could even say — there’s two rather distinct ways of thinking becoming even more organized and prominent.

Think what you will, but on one hand there are people (in power – applying “how to confidence“) who are patenting specific genetic modifications on the agriculture most of us eat. Similar groups have also patented genes in the human body with the idea that as medicine advanced a person could have a body part replaced by medicine, that they don’t even own. There are people in the manufacturing business who stand to make huge profits from war by selling weapons that have no other purpose than to destroy human life.

What if you had the how to confidence to make changes in your life?

On the other hand — there are those of us who tend to feel there are many illusions in a world (or way of thinking) where material gain defines your worth, value and importance as a human. There are people who feel somehow misled by those “in power” who are taking a stand and protesting what they feel this world has become. There are some us who do not wish to be tethered to guilt, oppression, taxation, fractional lending and the forced consumption of poisons. There are those who just want to feel free, happy, able and equipped with how to confidence!

Granted, there’s a lot to think about these days. With modern technology (internet in our pocket) staying plugged in is simple. But when is the last time you stopped (or even slowed a bit) and wondered what impact the thoughts you think have on the reality you live? — It’s a powerful step in developing “how to confidence” and getting things done –

If you were to think about something like one of you best memories (the first one that pops into your mind), in vivid detail, you’ll likely notice certain feelings in your body. This is important to understand – I think. Because, adversely, if you were to think about something not agreeable with your set of ideas about “the world” – you would likely feel the “resonance” of that thought. Out of the two ways of thinking, if you were to think about one hurting and the other being enjoyable, which would be which? One way is great for building the “how to confidence” you seek, the other traps you in an endless web of negativity.

I’m not trying to trick you with an obvious question as much as I’m inviting you to take a mental inventory of what types of things you choose to hold onto in thought the most, or as some would say, what do you dwell on?

Yes, I too think there’s volatility in the outside world today. There is a lot to worry about, a lot to stress over and a lot to knock you away from radiating the kind of “how to confidence” that allows you to live a productive, happy, fulfilled life.

In case you’re wondering how to break free from thinking that hurts and step into “how to confidence:

If you don’t want your thinking to hurt you can either let go of thoughts that cause discomfort or invest the effort needed to change how you internalize certain thoughts and practice easing yourself into a more neutral accepting state of mind. It’s a choice and a way of thinking.

Focusing on something you have wished to accomplish in your life – that you have yet to experience is one (powerful) way to work with your mind and step into a space of “how to confidence”. The question I will leave you with this week is simple: What if you decided to replace the type of thinking that hurts with something you are passionate about, yet have never really focused on? What if you decided to focus on bringing one of your dreams into reality and learn about yourself in ways that defy words in the process? Yes, these are “what ifs” – but aren’t they more positive and powerful than holding onto fearful, hurtful and unproductive thoughts?

I invite you too, to Change Through Power!

If someone were to ask you to summarize who you were in five sentences of less, what would you come up with? I’m not asking you to stop reading and think about how you would go about defining yourself, but you might be surprised at some of the automatic thoughts that enter your mind when thinking about who you think you are…The topic of this message is how real is your identity and who makes it so?

Questioning your identity can be challenging. Reading this message might even bring certain built in resistance mechanisms to the forefront of your mind. If you feel as though you’re consistently encountering internal conflict because what you want out of life doesn’t align with who you think you are, this message could shed the crucial light on something you might consider letting go of in order to live a more harmonious life — your identity.

Most of the people I know have relatively firm ideas about themselves, who they are, what their value system is built upon, how they look, how they should act, what their place in life is and more. You could think of this as a person’s identity. The ideas someone has about who they are. Granted, others may not perceive a person as they perceive themselves, but that is beside the point this is about how you perceive your own identity.

Of all the things you can be, some of them include: being rich or poor — being fat or fit — being beautiful or ugly — being up tight or easy going — being healthy or sickly — being free in spirit or bound by obligation — and more.

Of course, within those polarities, there is space in the middle. There is also the idea of what happens to people who are how you may choose to define yourself on the topics mentioned above and more.

For example, it could be thought that a fat person has no business doing activities skinny people enjoy. Or it can be easy to think a poor person is bound to live a certain life that a rich person has complete freedom from. An ugly person is certain to have a far more limited experience with physical intimacy with more partners than an attractive person is.

Reading through those statements, you may be agreeing with certain statements and mentally citing experiential reference points (memories) that support your ideas- or you might think the idea is absurd (or maybe you’re somewhere in between the two ideas). Either way the one making these decisions can be though of as an extension of who you are, or your identity (yes, please do re-read this paragraph, taking time to think about it).

No one is suggesting that there is anything wrong with your identity. But, there is something you may have yet to consider when you are wishing to make any sort of life change that hasn’t seemed to materialize in the physical world just yet:

If the change you seek is outside of the identity you hold onto chances are there will be an internal conflict and an inevitable “victor.” For example, do you know someone who has attempted to lose weight, taken some kind of action step, lost weight – and then gained it back after a few months?

What about the person who invests their hard-earned money into an abundance of “millionaire mindset” type of books, seminars and workshops, yet year after year, still struggles with finances? How about the person who is convinced they are destined to unwillingly endure a life of loneliness without ever finding love, only to convince themselves of this truth through a seemingly unending series of short term relationships?

Do you think it’s possible the reason many of us just don’t seem to be able to arrive where we wish we would is that our identity gets in the way? Could it be the ideas we hold onto about ourselves keep us locked into the confines of a series of thoughts that sum up who we think we are?

What if it we had the ability to let go of who we thought we are? What if the “fatty” decided to let go of idea altogether? What if the person who never gets the “right break” in life they need in order to make it decides not to identify with that person anymore? What if the ugly ducking stops subscribing to that idea? Do you get where I’m going with this?

I know a lot of us are wishing for change right now. So am I. I wish you all the success in the world along your journey. So here’s the thing… If it hasn’t quite worked out for you yet – will it ever work out for you if you continue to be the person you think you are, or will you have to let that person go?

Last week I wrote about the process of ageing – and how it seems so many of us have declared war, in many ways on the inevitable process that will eventually force us to all let go of who we think we are by certain terms – death, of your identity. You can argue this all you wish, but you can’t dispute that we all let go of these bodies we occupy at some point. Where we go, well – many of us have many ideas – and in some way they all include letting go of the person you think you are now.

How could your life be if you didn’t wait to let go of the parts of the person you think you are who keeps you locked into living what you don’t want? Are you willing to find out? I know I am.

Namaste,
Paul
